Brooklinen was founded in New York City by husband and wife duo Vicki and Rich Fulop. The couple set out to provide high quality bedding at a lower price point. Following a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2014, the Fulops officially launched Brooklinen later that year. Brooklinen has since expanded its product offerings to include towels, bath accessories, and loungewear.

Brooklinen recommends airing out your Down Pillow for a few hours or placing it in the dryer on the air fluff/no heat setting to help get rid of the down scent.

Brooklinen does not recommend using a domestic washing machine for any of the pillows. The Down Pillow can either be left outside or dried using a dryer on the air fluff/no heat setting to dry out and shake out any dust or dirt. For a pillow that is washable, consider the Silk & Snow pillow. This hybrid pillow features a down-alternative (microfibre) outer that can be machine washed for ease of care and is resistant to clumping and collapsing.

The company recommends using a soft soap to spot clean spills or stains on the Brooklinen Down Alternative Pillow, or dry cleaning for larger stains or general care. They caution that while Brooklinen Down Pillows can be dry cleaned for large stains, dry cleaning will shorten the lifespan of the pillow.

Please note that “duvets” are meant to be inserted in a duvet cover and “comforters” are meant to be used on their own. Brooklinen uses the terms interchangeably, and their inserts are referred to as Brooklinen Comforters, to be used with a Brooklinen Duvet Cover.

The warmth of the Brooklinen Weighted Comforter is most similar to that of the All-Season Down Alternative Comforter.

If you’d rather do away with pesky beads, consider the Silk & Snow weighted blanket. We rely solely upon layers and layers of cotton to supply the weight in the blankets. There are no artificial fillers or synthetic bead fillers, which means greater breathability and reduced choking hazard when compared to conventional weighted blankets.
